The Samurai Game Coming to Alberta, the Second Time!

Samurai_Art_Blacklight_062510One of my most meaningful personal development experiences last year was playing The Samurai Game.  It was so powerful to me that I choose to bring The Samurai Game to Alberta, which rocked!

My friend and business partner Rae Ann Wood Schatz loved it so much that she choose to become certified to deliver The Samurai Game.  Rae Ann will be delivering The Samurai Game in Edmonton on January 17 – 19, 2014.  The really cool part is that because this is Rae Ann’s first course we are offering it at a significant discount only $497!

The first time we brought the game to Alberta it was $897 so this saves $400.  Of course there has been outstanding response and now we only have 10 spots left!!  If you know already you want to come and play grab one of the last seats NOW!

Click here to grab one of the LAST 10 SPOTS!

If you need more info please read on.

Simply put the Samurai Game ROCKS!!It is one of the most powerful activities, that mirrors who and how we are as human beings.  I will not tell you the details but I can tell you that in the game I died, the way I died was a perfect awareness (kick in the ass) for what I am working on in my life right this moment.  PRESENCE, being in the present moment, I have come away with clear commitments to strengthening my practices and more consciously aligning my environment (internal and external) to support living MORE in the moment.  I will write more about this in near future!

So if you are ready for a significant step up in your life and world, you really MUST get yourself registered in the program.  Feel compelled?

The Samurai Game Workshop
The Samurai Game® Workshop is a powerful opportunity to experience the way of the warrior as a path to deeper self-awareness and enlightenment. In Japanese, the word samurai means “to serve.” The samurai lived and died by the code of bushido, “the way of the warrior.” For the true samurai, iron self- discipline, 100% commitment, inner calm in the face of danger, willingness to die rather than be dishonored, and unwavering loyalty to leader and team were a way of life. The Samurai Game® allows you to take on these qualities of the samurai warrior, and experience for yourself the way of the warrior as a path to deeper self-awareness and enlightenment. At the same time, the Samurai Game® is an amazingly accurate mirror that allows you to see exactly how you live your everyday life. As the game unfolds, major life issues will come to the surface for you to confront and deal with. For some people, the main issue is commitment—the willingness to persevere, not give up, in the face of setbacks, difficulties, and even pain. For others, it’s honesty and integrity—the courage to speak the truth, even when speaking the truth means the possibility of rejection or becoming an outcast. For others, what surfaces is the struggle between cowardice—giving in to fear—and courage, the willingness to risk, for what you believe in. And for still others, the issue brought up by the game is trust—trust in yourself, trust in other people, trust in life itself. The list of major life issues that may surface in the game is endless, since the game is simply a mirror. But you can count on being challenged to face up to yourself in a deep and meaningful way.Another challenge in the Samurai Game® for many people is the challenge of (symbolically) facing death. As you confront the possibility of dying in battle, you have an opportunity to contemplate the meaning of your life—and to face up to how brief this lifetime really is. For many participants, this is a chance to re-evaluate their priorities, and to gain a new level of clarity about what really matters. The Samurai Game® is also an exercise in leadership and teamwork. Throughout the game, you will be presented with opportunities to lead—and opportunities to surrender completely to the leadership of others. The game will test you, and expose for you to see clearly your strengths and weaknesses as a leader and as a member of the team.

Participation in the Samurai Game® demands a high level of personal commitment and willingness to participate. Playing the game does not, however, require a high level of physical fitness or physical contact. Men and women from 18 to 80 years old, from all walks of life, have participated fully and created tremendous value in the Samurai Game®. As with any experiential process, the value you create will depend entirely on your willingness to participate fully and face up to yourself honestly.

The Samurai Game® was created by George Leonard. George was a founding member and former president of Esalen Institute. He held the rank of 5th Degree Black Belt in the Japanese martial art of Aikido and authored twelve books including: Mastery, The Ultimate Athlete, Education & Ecstasy, The Way of Aikido, The Silent Pulse, and (with Michael Murphy) The Life We Are Given. The Samurai Game® is now used globally in classes, seminars and corporate retreats, and has served hundreds of thousands of people.

The One Way…NOT!

What The Hell Do You Mean One Way?

This rant is inspired by years of ongoing conversations with people who are certain that they have found THE path.  When in reality they have found a modality, a process, a set of distinctions that work for them.  Yahoo they have found something that works for them…but for goodness sakes PLEASE do not get stuck in that is the one, the only way.  It is not true, it is an unconscious, narrow and self righteous position.

Keep looking, do not bastardize what preceded your breakthrough and do not let it limit you on your next step of the journey, stay engaged, where you are today is only one step of your journey.

Recently I had the great pleasure of speaking at “Meet You in The Mountains” with Sandra Yancey of The Ewomen’s Network and there is an organization that GETS this, they collect speakers on ranges of topics, business, personal development, inspiration all with the same fundamental message, you must fully engage in your life, business and community.

So please even if you think (actually ESPECIALLY if you think) you have been there and done that…take another step…

Holding WHO Accountable

The following video is a powerful distinction between keeping agreement and personal accountability, I believe that there is a “Myth” that runs rampant in coaching about holding people accountable. Understanding this distinction will simplify your life, increase your capacity to create and support you to direct your energy more powerfully!
